if anyone is interested in chatting in real time, especially during races, i've set up an irc channel on undernet.org: #rideontwo

if you know how to use irc check it out. if not, just ask google

Warning: don't hang out in the channel if you haven't seen that day's race!!! there's no spoiler rules in channel.

except romek was drinking vodka and smoking a cigar and i was in bed with my wife, kids, and cats Very Happy

good stuff

I hope it will be as fun during the race. This is, in fact, what Internet 2.0 is all about, being interactive. Internet 1.0 was all about sites, while Internet 2.0 is about interaction.... where we can chat live, or even do podcasts or wikis about topics (mostly about races).... it's just the next natural level, a level that some people don't understand.

I'm happy to say this forum is utilizing pretty quick... I guess that's what happens when you get a few motocycle computer geeks in on place Laughing

The thing is will enough see what I'm taking about? Only time will tell... Smile

Let Romek revel in the "newness" of the Interwebs, wouldja? You're always cuttering him down. Razz

guys... I'm not saying IRC is new... of course it's been around forever... what I'm talking about is the idea of having a much more internactive experience than just downloading sites.

Wikis, podcasts, forums, chat rooms are all coming together for a truely interactive experience. (plus I was pretty drunk when I wrote that post) Wink

Yeah I know how to use my PC and that's about it! The computerslang used by you guys sometimes really impresses me Very Happy but most of the time I have no clue! I am going to try this irc-thingie cause it sounds cool, but I'll have to move my bulky pentium II Embarassed PC over to the TV area.

There are times when I feel like a friggin caveman.....and this is such a time!

PII??? Wow, that's impressively old.

We just did a Skype conference during the QP which was very cool! But on a PII I wouldn't suggest it.

IRC should work fine on your system. Very Happy

Wow... it's heaps of fun chatting with people who actually give a shit about MotoGP while I'm watching.

Usually it's me shouting "check THIS out!!!!" and no-one could care less.

Right on, Jules. That's what I dig about this forum... I have a few friends who I can watch a race with, and they can name maybe 3-5 riders if you're lucky..... But debating every little issue is not something I can do with them (ex: Hopkins' kicking) Very Happy .
