[by Jim Race]Sunday, July 31st, 2005 at 8:01 amIs it possible that this one race can be a pivotal point in the 2005 season? I don’t think so, but I think some other people do. The only thing that I think will derail Vale is injury, and no one wants that and it would be a dark blow to the sport.
Numbers (as in points) don’t lie though. I can’t see any significant advancement in the rest of the race season that would change the outcome and yet I will still watch, fascinated by the talent to which I can only dream of practicing at my version of club racing and laugh at my foolish, pale imitation. There are times I think knitting (or tapping away at a keyboard) would be a far better outlet for what racing skills I think I have.

It’s one of those seasons with an asterisk. Here, the footnote says that the anticipation was to find out who came in second in the championship!
